Meet Lance Atkins for CUSD

My wife and I are raising our five children in Chico, and our family is deeply invested in the success of Chico Unified School District. Our children attend Sierra View Elementary, Marsh Junior High, and Pleasant Valley High School, giving me a firsthand understanding of the opportunities and challenges families experience throughout CUSD.

I work in local agriculture, where responsible leadership means balancing long-term planning, careful budgeting, and the needs of a team. I also coach youth sports and serve our community through organizations including the Farm Bureau, Marsh Junior High basketball, and our local church.

I believe strong schools are built through fiscal responsibility, qualified educators, respect for parents, and a culture where people can disagree civilly and still work together. I am committed to listening, asking thoughtful questions, and keeping students at the center of every decision.
